Alaska’s Icy Peaks: A Photo Collection

1–2 minutes

These are images that capture a fraction of Alaska’s snow-capped mountains, stretching glaciers, and fabulous ice formations. Captured in the summer of 2022, May 2023, and August 2023, they showcase wild, jaw-dropping examples of the Alaskan wilderness. Geologically young mountain ranges blanket the state, creating wickedly jagged peaks and razorback ridges. Snow, arriving in the winter, then covers the mountains and surrounding landscape, leaving them shiny white summits into the sky.

“It’s just like anyplace else, only with mountains and moose.”

Tom Bodett

“To the lover of wilderness, Alaska is one of the most wonderful countries in the world.”

John Muir
